DR DALE MCPHEE
Dale grew up with an absolute love and fascination with animals so becoming a vet was a natural progression for her. Veterinary Science combines her passion for animal welfare, medicine and surgery in an environment that is always varied and challenging. She particularly appreciates the opportunity that this profession gives her to use her knowledge and skills to enhance the quality of life of the animals she treats.
Dale joined the team at Port Kennedy in early 2010, having previously worked in rural mixed practice. She enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine but has a particular interest in surgery. She feels the high standard of practice and the caring, generous ethos that Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital has at its core, makes this clinic a wonderful place to work. We all truly want the best for your animals and will go above and beyond to deliver it.
DR RACHEL WHITE
Dr Rachel White emigrated to Perth from the UK 15 years ago and believes it was the best decision her and husband Stuart ever made. Australia has provided her with the opportunity to make the huge career change from Human Resources in the banking and mining industries to pursuing her passion for animals, science and medicine. After five years of hard work and with an immeasurable amount of support from Stuart she graduated as a mature age student from Murdoch University with first class honours and has been a part of Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital since December 2009. She has a keen interest in cardiopulmonary medicine that was first ignited in her early days at university and which she continues to foster today. She is really excited to be attending the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association conference in August 2011 with a week long indulgence in Thoracic Medicine and Surgery.
When not at work Rachel can be found at home caring for her menagerie of three, Reuben a most gorgeous feline creature (featured with her in her photo), Trio a three legged kitten who creates far more mischief than his four legged brother ever could and Bullet, her ever so cuddly 12 yr old English Cocker spaniel. She loves them all dearly and they continue to provide her with true inspiration and motivation to be the best vet she can be.
DR HEIDI LEHMANN
Dr Heidi Lehmann found her calling in veterinary science after a bit of a round about adventure which included working in medical research for a number of years. After her initial training in science she felt the combination of both her loves gave her a great grounding in the world of veterinary medicine. Heidi worked at Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital during her university training and learnt to love the way the practice operated and the level of care we are able to give our clients and their animals. She still has a large number of pets back on the family farm but currently has one personal pet, a rather neurotic pound dog called Griffin.
